ABOUT
Hi.
My name is Seth.
I am a designer, an artist, and a maker.
I am also a recent graduate with a Master of Design in Product Design from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. In April of 2017, I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a BA in Studio Arts and another BA in Media and Professional Communications. I'm from Silver Spring, Maryland, but I've been living in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia for the last 7 years.
I found my way into product design through my interest in studio arts. At an early age I discovered my talents and passion for art. Specifically, I learned that I could draw pretty well. Mapping/drafting/rendering have always been a strength of mine. When I got involved in sculpture at Pitt I found a new way to express my fascination with geometry and abstract forms. Towards the end of my time at Pitt I resolved myself to continue producing three dimensional work. All I knew was that I wanted to keep making things, and I wanted to make things at the highest level. This is when I became acutely interested in industrial design/product design. I enrolled at the University of the Arts for a Masters of Design in Product Design. In my time at UArts I have been exposed to a wide range of new materials and processes and design philosophies. My bag of skills has grown tremendously. Gaining practice and experience in advanced manufacturing technologies has given my work an enormous boost in quality and possibilities. And I'm only just getting started.
